The Creation of EVE Online

In days of yesteryear, after the collapse of the EVE Gate, and the destruction of the first Jovian empire, there was KarmaFleet’s Innominate.

Raising forth his mighty scuba mask, he reflected the light of creation upon its glass, into the echoes of civilization’s past and established the empires.

This he called “HighSec”.

And it was good.

He then illuminated the darkness beyond with his underwater flashlight, and called it Lowsec.

And it was good.

Finally, descending to the depths of existence, he discovered a vastness of riches and resources. This, he called “Nullsec” and with the wave of his Linux encoded hands, he formed Delve.

This he handed to CCP Hillmar on a 100 MB Zip Disk so that Hillmar could install it on a Dell PowerEdge R900 using ARCH Linux.

Hillmar had wanted to use Windows ME, and Rattati wanted to install Debian, but Innominate won out by explaining that ARCH Linux ran as fast as the SR71 even with only 16 GB of Server RAM which was mostly consumed by the Access Database that contains all the POS Code.

And it was good.

We miss you Brad. Thanks for believing in me.
